Painter, muralist, lithographer, designer, and kite maker Tyrus Wong worked for decades in Hollywood as a film production illustrator for Disney and Warner Brothers, most notably as the lead artist on Disney's 1942 classic, Bambi. He was the subject of major retrospective exhibitions in New York, San Francisco, and New York, was named a Disney Legend, and was featured in Pamela Tom’s award-winning documentary Tyrus (2015). He passed away in December 2016 at the age of 106.
