Big News From The Small World

I’ve always been fascinated by the way Disney works. That is, the people who make up and actively represent Disney. It is a rich history, and I love hearing the personal stories of those who worked on the front lines at the studios and early Disneyland. Here at The Walt Disney Family Museum, there is a quote by Walt Disney on the large wall behind our model of Disneyland. It says, "You can dream, create, design and build the most wonderful place in the world, but it requires people to make the dream a reality."

That’s why I love reading these newsletters from the original it’s a small world exhibit at the 1964/65 New York World’s Fair. I feel like a time traveler visiting those cast members who helped guide the world’s experience of this iconic attraction for the first time. Here you’ll find the results of a pigtail contest, a birth announcement, which side of the costume Pepsi-Cola name tags were to be worn, news about Mary Poppins(just before its spectacular premiere in theaters), and an invite for small world cast members to preview another famous Walt Disney fair exhibit, Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln

Take a peek, and you’ll get a more personal view of the people who helped make Walt’s dreams a reality.
