Remember those times as a child when you enjoyed the well-worn pages of a favorite Golden Book? Or perhaps you’ve read a number of selections to your own children? Regardless of how you’ve experienced them, no other children's books are as cherished and collected as the Golden Books.
Many of the most beloved volumes were illustrated by artists who worked at The Walt Disney Studios, including Mary Blair, John Hench, Gustaf Tenggren, and Al Dempster. And in ways no one could foretell, their work has lived on to influence a new generation of readers and illustrators.
Join historian Charles Solomon and Golden Books/Random House editorial director Diane Muldrow for a discussion of the art and artists of the golden era of Golden Books and their ongoing influence.
Saturday, June 28, 3pm – Presentation (Theater) | 4:30pm – Signing (Lower Lobby)
