School Experiences at WDFM are an exciting and fun way to engage students in the history of The Walt Disney Studios! Students receive a tour of our permanent, interactive galleries as well as participate in a hands-on animation workshop. For our Development of Special Effects School Experience, students learn how to create realistic depth in animation. They use a miniature Multiplane Camera, a webcam, a computer, and cut-out paper shapes to create their own animated stop-motion film. Hundreds of students have learned about the animation process and created their own animation here at the museum.
Check out the video below to see what a class from Pittsburg High School created during one of our Development of Special Effects School Experiences!
If you’re interested in having your class at the museum or feel like you know someone who would, please feel free to contact us by e-mail at SchoolExperience@wdfmuseum.org or by phone at (415)345-6808. We hope to see you and your students at the museum very soon.
