Huell Howser, the host of TV series "California's Gold", passed away on January 7 earlier this year from prostate cancer. We were so saddened to have read this in the LA Times:
Howser had ambitious plans last year for the show that he ended up having to cancel, [his assistant Ryan] Morris said. One of those stories would have been on The Walt Disney Family Museum in San Francisco, which was booked and canceled several times over the summer because of his illness.
"That was one of the most difficult moments for Huell emotionally," Morris said Thursday. "Huell always wanted to do that story."
The Walt Disney Family Museum co-founder and Walt Disney's daughter, Diane Disney Miller, responds: "Everyone at The Walt Disney Family Museum was looking forward to his coming here. I really deeply regret not having met him, or being able to share our museum with him. I know he would have liked it. We offer our sincerest sympathies to his family. His message was positive and stimulating... finding the wonders in our state and its people. He was a very special man."
