Toys for Tots and "The Inside Track"

Posted on Fri, 12/09/2011 - 06:00

Continuing Walt Disney’s legacy of support for Toys for Tots, The Walt Disney Family Museum is again collecting toys for children and young people throughout the Bay Area.

In 1948, Walt Disney's Publicity Artists designed the Toys for Tots logo, the familiar, jolly train we all know today. Walt continued this support by, among other things, contributing the first Toys for Tots promotional poster designs, used to publicize the program across the country. Over its 62 year history, the Toys for Tots campaign has made a positive impact on the lives of more than 188 million children and young people, distributing more than 400 million toys. This year, you can receive a unique button when you donate a new, unwrapped toy for Toys for Tots at The Walt Disney Family Museum.

Also in celebration of the Holidays, The Walt Disney Family Museum is offering you “The Inside Track.” Want to find out more about what’s inside our museum?  Ask for “The Inside Track” at the ticket desk. You will receive a postcard with questions that will lead you on an exclusive trip through our museum, destination: more knowledge about Walt Disney. Each month there will be a new set of questions with a limited edition postcard. Once you answer all the questions, return to the Member Services and Reception Desk to compare your answers.

Members will receive a specially-designed tin pin for completing the questions.

Join us this Holiday and bring a smile to a child in need with Toys for Tots—and learn more about the legacy of Walt Disney with “The Inside Track”!
