In September, The Walt Disney Family Museum will celebrate the family. Our Film of the Month will be a favorite of Walt's, the 1948 family classic So Dear to My Heart, and our programming and Storyboard entries will focus around families, and all those around us who are so dear to our hearts.
Walt may just be one man, but he is one who has touched and played a role in the lives of so many families. To one, he was a husband, to two, he was "dad," and to countless thousands of others, he was "Uncle Walt."
How was Walt part of your family? We'd like to hear your stories of how the life and work of Walt Disney had a genuine influence on your family relationships, family members, or how you percieve or relate to your family. Did one of Walt's films heal a rift? Did a trip to Disneyland inspire a family tradition? Did a Disney song play a part in your romance? Have the Disney credos like "A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes" or "Be sure you're right, then go ahead" had a vital impact on your family?
Send us your stories, and any appropriate photos or images, and you may see your family story told right here on Storyboard! Send all materials to storyboard@wdfmuseum.org with the subject line: "Walt and My Family" no later than September 1st. We look forward to hearing all about Walt and your family!
By sending us your photos and stories, please note that it is understood that the act of submission grants The Walt Disney Family Museum the right to publish the submitted materials.
