Walt Disney Family Museum Volunteer Appreciation

Before the hustle and bustle of the Holiday Season, The Walt Disney Family Museum would like to thank our Volunteer Team for sharing your time and passion with us. The broad support of our growing Volunteer Team contributes directly to the success of our mission and supports every department at our museum. Working alongside staff in the galleries, helping children with crafts at Disney Discoveries, or guiding guests to one of our many public programs, our volunteers provide invaluable support to our guests and staff alike.

In addition to their regular volunteer roles, the Volunteer Team also plays a large part in our special and seasonal programs. Most recently volunteers helped staff our Halloween Spooktacular. A haunted blowout celebrating all things spooky, with games such as Pin the Skull on the Skeleton and Toss the Ghost in the Jack-O-Lantern, offered prizes and candy for every child. Families worked on spooky crafts, creating their very own flapping ghost and candy corn Halloween cards for their loved ones and friends, while our younger guests were treated to spooky tales during Story Time. And…for those who dared to enter…a Haunted House filled with the undead, a frightening séance, and a huge poisonous spider lurking in every corner!

Volunteers at The Walt Disney Family Museum also enjoy special and fun activities and events in recognition of their contribution. The Volunteer Team gathered on November 13th to enjoy lunch and private screening of the Disney classic The Jungle Book. This year’s lunch included the award of our exclusive Volunteer Team Pin to those who have shared 250 hours with the Museum over the last year. More than the "Bare Necessities," the lunch was full of fun for the whole team.

The Walt Disney Family Museum Volunteer Team is an important part of our museum experience, helping create a personal connection for each guest. Generously sharing over 5500 hours with the Museum so far this year, the Volunteer Team has fun while generously supporting everything The Walt Disney Family Museum does and shares with the community. If you would like to learn how you can join the team, contact Volunteer Services Coordinator Reed Milnes at rmilnes@wdfmuseum.org.
