Within the world of animation, cloaks are an iconic item of clothing for fantastical adventures. A gust of wind side-sweeping a cape can make for an impactful moment in a fanciful narrative. Join us as we delve into how animators throughout the years have used various techniques to achieve the illusion of robes blowing in the wind. Then, using fundamental drawing principles, animate a character whose cloak gently billows back and forth in the breeze.
