Sketchbooks can be a very expressive form of artwork. While they physically contain our drawings, they may also contain ideas, stories, thoughts, and rough experiments that are very personal to us. During this six-week class, we will delve into how to keep a sketchbook and what it means to make it a portfolio piece.

This class is intended for students who are just getting into drawing and art, or those wishing to develop a sketchbook for art school application. Open to beginners and advanced artists.

Please note: This class takes place at EPACENTER (1950 Bay Rd, East Palo Alto, CA 94303).

About Our Partnership with EPACENTER

The Walt Disney Family Museum is partnering with EPACENTER, a creative youth development organization in East Palo Alto, to further expand the museum’s animation and film instruction to youth across the Bay Area. EPACENTER offers culturally responsive instruction in the digital, visual, literary, and performing arts disciplines during the school day, after school, and during the summer. EPACENTER also engages youth in organizational decision-making and key leadership roles, and links youth to meaningful summer employment opportunities, colleges, and careers. Museum instructors will be leading both in-person and virtual classes for youth from EPACENTER’s state-of-the-art digital media lab.
