Take an incredible journey through the process of creating strong female characters while learning about being a woman in the animation industry today. In this two-week class, students will design their own lead character while studying narrative structure, use of fairy tales, writing tropes, and stereotypes in animation. Starting with storyboard development and basics of character design, students will then transform their sketches into a three-dimensional maquette.

A showcase of all student work will be held at the end of the two-week session. Family and friends are encouraged to attend.

This class is intended for girls and individuals who self-identify as female. Students will be working in the studio for the majority of the hours class is in session. This is not an animation class, and is focused on design and drawing.

Summer class scholarships brought to you in part by No More Dirt, Inc.
