One hundred and eleven years ago on December 5, 1901, in the upper bedroom of Elias and Flora Disney's Tripp Avenue home in Chicago, Illinois, Walter Elias Disney was born.
In honor of what would have been Walt's 111th birthday, we've put together a video made up of clips of Disney Legends, speaking at The Walt Disney Family Museum, about their favorite memories they have Walt Disney. This video features Diane Disney Miller (daughter of Walt Disney) chatting with Disney Legends Alice Davis (costumer), Marge Champion (live action model/dancer), Blaine Gibson (Artists/Imagineer), Richard Sherman (Songwriter), and Rolly Crump (Imagineer).
Additionally in celebration, admission to our museum is FREE today, with extended hours from 10am to 8pm, thanks to generous funding from Pacific Gas and Electric. We will also host special programming, film screenings, and hands-on art activities, throughout the galleries all day long.
