Walt’s passion for the natural world came to the forefront in the 1940s and 50s when he financed the production of the True-Life Adventures (1948–1960), a documentary series focusing on animals and their natural habitats. He wanted these films to entertain, educate, and encourage audiences to care about the natural world and its preservation. See clips of True-Life Adventures in Gallery 8 and join us in this workshop to find inspiration in nature around us. Learn about the history and techniques of drawing plein air and then step outside to do some observational painting in the natural beauty of San Francisco’s Presidio.
