Celebrate Years of Magic with Us
Since opening our doors in 2009, The Walt Disney Family Museum has inspired over two million visitors by sharing the life and legacy of Walt Disney. Join us in creating outstanding educational programs, community events, and special exhibitions that will inspire generations of creative thinkers, storytellers, and leaders while cultivating your organization’s support of arts access, STEAM-focused education, and diversity.
Looking Toward the Future
The Walt Disney Family Museum’s commitment to education and arts access continues to grow as we expand our offerings and outreach efforts. Here are just a few of our accomplishments:
- In 2022, the museum served 14,545 students through combined in-person and virtual educational experiences—talks, panels, workshops, film screenings, camps, field trips, and community days—that honor Walt Disney’s legacy and focus on sparking creativity and innovation for all ages. 51% of the students came from Title I schools. With the launch of our virtual tour program, it is our goal to expand our STEAM-focused educational programs to reach audiences around the globe.
- In 2021, the museum established an Animation Certificate Program for young people in the Bay Area in partnership with Eastside College Preparatory School—a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and independent high school committed to opening doors for students historically underrepresented in higher education. As a pillar of the East Palo Alto community, Eastside serves students who are primarily Latino, Black, and Pacific Islander, providing tuition-free education to all. The museum is currently celebrating its third year of the Animation Certificate Program at Eastside College Prep.
- Annually, 1,350 Bay Area educators seek professional development and training from the museum; 42% of these educators are from Title I or other underserved schools.
- This summer, The Walt Disney Family Museum is proud to present Pencils and Passion: A Student Art Exhibition—a celebration of the museum’s educational initiatives and the achievements of its students. Pencils and Passion is the 37th original exhibition produced by the museum. It highlights both past and current student artwork, recognizes the accomplishments of its alumni, and chronicles the development of The Walt Disney Family Museum Animation Academy.
