Hours

The main museum is open Thu–Sun, 10am–5:30pm (last entry at 4:30pm).

The museum is closed Thanksgiving Day, December 25, and January 1. On December 24 and 31, the main museum closes at 4pm with last entry at 3pm.

In addition to its main galleries, which house the museum's permanent collection, The Walt Disney Family Museum has several special exhibition spaces. On the lower level of the main building, the Theater Gallery and Lower Lobby Gallery host small-scale, rotating special exhibitions; these exhibitions are typically free to the general public, or admission to them is included with main museum admission. The recommended viewing time for these exhibitions is generally 30 minutes.

We encourage all guests—including members—to reserve tickets prior to their visit. Admission to the main museum is available on a timed-ticket basis with limited capacities set for each time slot. Visit our Tickets page to purchase or reserve tickets. Members of The Walt Disney Family Museum are invited to visit our members-only ticket reservation page to reserve your free tickets.

Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by an adult who shall be responsible for the child at all times.

If you purchased tickets and need to reschedule your visit, email tickets@wdfmuseum.org. Although no refunds are available, our team is happy to reschedule your visit.

Museum Store, Cafe, Awards Lobby

• Visitors are invited to explore the Museum Store, cafe, and Awards Lobby free of charge.

San Francisco Museums for All

• Proof of San Francisco residency and a valid CalFresh, EBT, or Medi-Cal card required.
• Cardholder + three guests receive free general admission to the main museum galleries.
• Available to redeem in person at Ticket Desk.
  • The Walt Disney Family Museum participates in the San Francisco Museums for All program, which offers free or reduced admission to local museums and cultural centers. See a full list of participating institutions at https://www.sfhsa.org/san-francisco-museums-all.

Primary Caregiver of a Person with a Disability

• The primary caregiver receives free general admission to the main museum galleries and free film admission (film admission subject to availability, check calendar for showtimes).
• Available to redeem in person at Ticket Desk.

US Military Admission

• Valid for active, retired, and veteran US military personnel with valid US military ID.
• Valid for spouse or dependents with valid spouse/dependent ID.
• Cardholders receive free general admission to the main museum galleries.

Blue Star Museums Admission

• Valid from Armed Forces Day to Labor Day.
• Valid for active duty US military personnel with valid US military ID.
• Cardholders and up to five family members receive free general admission to the main museum galleries.
  • We are honored take part in the Blue Star Museums program, which grants free museum admission to US military families. Active-duty US military personnel and up to five family members with a valid US military ID receive complimentary main galleries admission between Armed Forces Day and Labor Day.
  • The Blue Star Museums program is available for those currently serving in the United States military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard (including Reservists), National Guardsman (regardless of status), U.S. Public Health Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members. The active-duty member does not have to be present for family members to use the program. Qualified members must show a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC), or DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID), or a DD Form 1173-1 ID card to redeem free museum admission.

Members of NARM, ROAM, or Time Travelers

• Proof of NARM, ROAM, or Time Travelers reciprocity required.
• Cardholders receive free general admission to the main museum galleries.
• Number of complimentary general admission tickets vary by membership level.
  • These tickets are available on a first-come, first-serve basis. Number of complimentary main museum tickets vary by membership level. Please note: NARM, ROAM and Time Traveler benefits include admission to the main museum only. Special exhibition admission is not included. To make a reservation prior to your visit, affiliated organizations are asked to email tickets@wdfmuseum.org.

Member VIP Tickets

Upon arrival at the museum, simply present your Member VIP ticket at the main entrance to receive the next available admission time. Please note, you may experience a minimal wait and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Member VIP Tickets do not include special exhibitions or film screenings. To make a reservation with this ticket before your visit, please email membership@wdfmuseum.org. 

WDFM Donation Certificates

Upon arrival at the museum, simply present your WDFM Donation Certificate at the main entrance to receive the next available admission time. Please note, you may experience a minimal wait and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience. WDFM Donation Certificates do not include special exhibitions or film screenings. To make a reservation with this certificate before your visit, please email membership@wdfmuseum.org. 

Go City and CityPASS®

Advanced reservations are not required for Go City or CityPASS® ticket holders. Upon arrival at the museum, simply present your Go City ticket or CityPASS® ticket at the main entrance to receive the next available admission time. Please note, you may experience a minimal wait and we apologize in advance for any inconvenience. Go City and CityPASS® tickets do not include special exhibitions or film screenings.
